I Shave My Legs With What....?

So summer is here, and for me that means shaving my legs a lot more.  I have been blessed with a lot of hair.  I have beautiful thick shiny hair on my head, and A LOT of it.  Now that wonderful advantage of having a full hair of thick hair means I have a lot of hair EVERYWHERE else.  My eyebrows are huge, I have hair growing EVERYWHERE...lol.  It is not a pretty picture. 

So not only do I have a lot of hair all over my body it is dark, black hair.  So that means on my legs it is more noticeable.  I often in the summer shave my legs every day.  Two years ago I was developing a rash on my legs from the shaving cream.  So I did some research, and it turns out that shaving cream is just whipped soap...ummm duh I'm allergic to soap...lol.  Like gees why didn't I figure that out for myself.  It was then that I heard about people using hair conditioner to shave their legs.  Umm conditioner?  Ohhh okay.  I had to let my rash heal for about a week, and then tried shaving with the conditioner.  All I can say is WOW what an amazing product to shave your legs with.  First off no more rashes!  I get zero razor burn, and not only a super close shave, but my legs are soooo soft after.  Another great advantage of using conditioner is that price doesn't matter.  I usually buy dollar store conditioner to shave with, and it works better than any expensive shaving lotion!

So anyone else shave with conditioner?  Do you have a favorite brand?  Do you use something else to shave with other than shaving lotion or cream?

Idle Free Please ~ Fabric Pass Along

I was some what productive this morning, and was able to get a quick load of wash done just mostly stuff I wear for work, and dance practice.  So when my load was done I brought it back to my apartment, and hung it all up to dry.  I have a nice little folding clothes drying rack that fits perfectly on my balcony. 

As I was hanging my laundry I noticed one of my neighbours exit the building, and go to his car.  I expteced him to do what I would do start his car, and head off to begin his day.  However that is NOT what happened.  He got in his car started his car, then lite a cigarette, then sat there.  YES sat there, and sat there, and sat there & sat there.  Took me a good 10 mins to hang my clothes.  The entire time this car was sitting there idling.  I'm sorry, but that is totally not necessary.  Maybe he didn't get the memo that it is no longer winter?  That I could understand as our winter lasted longer than normal, but that 80 Km winds the past few days was WIND not SNOW!!!!!!!!!!  Yes in winter when it gets down to - 30 C I will idle my car, but no longer than 5 mins.  It does need to warm up when it is that cold as I've tried not warming it up, and WOW almost drove into a pole the steering wheel just doesn't want to turn.  However to see this car sitting there this morning on a sunny warm morning idling just made my blood boil.

FABRIC PASS ALONG

Rocket Girl over at Nuclear Knits has taken up the call to do a hexagon quilt as well.  We've been exchanging a few emails, and we are toying with the idea of doing a fabric pass along.  So I'm thinking once you are done with your fabric you pass it along to someone else, and so on.  Right now it is just Rocket Girl, and myself, and we are putting the details together, but I'm wondering if anyone else out there might be interested in doing this?

Take The Flats And Hand Washing Challenge

Just doing some random blog reading the other day.  It started as it usually does where I just googled some topics that interest me, and searched ‘family cloth’ (family cloth will be discussed another time), and I discovered this cloth diapering Mamma’s blog Dirty Diaper Laundry in particular I read with great interest this post Take The Flats and Handwashing Challenge I understand that money is tight for lots of people at the moment, but can you imagine my shock when I read the article that some families resort to reusing disposable diapers.  Could you imagine reusing a disposable diaper?  Could you imagine making a little baby sit in a dirty diaper one second longer than they need to, because money is that tight?  Just keeping diapers on babies is hard for some families.  I didn’t know this as my little guy is 10 years old, and hasn’t been in diapers for a long time.  So in reading Kim’s blog I was happy to read that she had a call for action.  That she had a challenge.  That she was trying to educate people that there are options.  You don’t have to use disposable diapers.  You don’t have to use a diaper service or pre-fold fabric diapers.  You can save money, and not have to keep buying disposables.  Please check out the link above to read about the Flats and Hand Washing Challenge May 23 – May 30.  I will not be able to 100% join in the challenge, but I will be doing my part, and hand washing a couple loads that week and hanging them to dry.  Kim has some great videos and resources to help get you all ready for that challenge.  The very least please check it out.
