I Shave My Legs With What....?

image from drugstore.com

So summer is here, and for me that means shaving my legs a lot more.  I have been blessed with a lot of hair.  I have beautiful thick shiny hair on my head, and A LOT of it.  Now that wonderful advantage of having a full hair of thick hair means I have a lot of hair EVERYWHERE else.  My eyebrows are huge, I have hair growing EVERYWHERE...lol.  It is not a pretty picture.

So not only do I have a lot of hair all over my body it is dark, black hair.  So that means on my legs it is more noticeable.  I often in the summer shave my legs every day.  Two years ago I was developing a rash on my legs from the shaving cream.  So I did some research, and it turns out that shaving cream is just whipped soap...ummm duh I'm allergic to soap...lol.  Like gees why didn't I figure that out for myself.  It was then that I heard about people using hair conditioner to shave their legs.  Umm conditioner?  Ohhh okay.  I had to let my rash heal for about a week, and then tried shaving with the conditioner.  All I can say is WOW what an amazing product to shave your legs with.  First off no more rashes!  I get zero razor burn, and not only a super close shave, but my legs are soooo soft after.  Another great advantage of using conditioner is that price doesn't matter.  I usually buy dollar store conditioner to shave with, and it works better than any expensive shaving lotion!

So anyone else shave with conditioner?  Do you have a favorite brand?  Do you use something else to shave with other than shaving lotion or cream?

I like using either baby oil or conditioner. I use conditioner more in the summer and baby oil in the winter to help with extream dry skin from the new england harsh winters.

ewww haven't tried baby oil, but i can see how that would be great during the winter. it is very dry here year round might have to try that. wonder if olive oil would work for shaving?

I use conditioner to shave too! hah. I thought I was the only one. I was at one of those Pure Romance parties, and she was selling shaving stuff for the bikini line.. and the lady said you could even substitute it for conditioner... which led me to think... well hell... why not save the $10 on that and just use my hair conditioner down there. LOL.

Thankfully my hair is light on my legs, don't have to shave too often. I usually can get away with just a razor as long as it has the lubricating strip on it. I have used conditioner b4 & it wrks well. Winter is great because I'm in jeans all the time I don't have to shave very often. Summer mean shorts and skirts and shaving! :)

I have used conditioner but only because I ran out of shaving cream. I didn't know that shaving cream was the same as soap! Thanks for the tip!

I use conditioner too. I have never used anything else. I grew up with a single mom working two jobs $3.00 shaving cream! No way when a whole bottle of Sauve was 98 cents! I have never felt the need to switch.

Crunchy Diva said...

@ Daniyal & why would you conditioner is way better to shave with anyways...lol

I used to have tons of hair, but went through a difficult divorce and many health issues, so now, not much hair and thankfully it hardly grows on my legs at all anymore. But I'll have to try out the conditioner. It would definitely be cheaper. Thanks for the tip.

Yes! I know - I have been doing this too and yeah, much, much softer.

When I was younger, I used to use conditioner, my mom would yell because it would run out so much faster than the shampoo.

I've been shaving with conditioner for years, and it really does help it go smoother. I also love using hand lotion for it. Works great!

Adjustable dumbbells cost closer to six hundred dollars
while a sufficient set of traditional dumbbells can be purchased for less than four
hundred dollars. Decades ago when some American coaches saw what their superior Baltic counterparts were training their athletes with for certain strength competitions,
they began slowly to incorporate kettlebells into their
programs. Preventing repetitive stress injuries through exercise will
also help prevent this kind of problem on the job.

They can simply be constructed of cardboard boxes and aluminum foil.
Take this 5 minutes to go ahead and clean up the slow cooker.
Because the lid will be sitting snugly on the pot during the slow cooking,

This is also a great exercise for coordination. If
you have any pain doing this it would be best to stop and trying doing the high pull exercise instead.

Beginners: lie down on your left side, and lift your hips and thighs off the ground by
holding yourself up on your left forearm (knees are on the floor).

Add spices appropriately: If you are using whole spices (recommended), add
them at the beginning of cooking. Often, a recipe
will ask that you cook a meal 3-4 hours on the "high" setting, or 6-8
hours on "low". As a matter of fact, most recipes are long cooking ones that require several hours of cooking
time to complete.

It was small enough to get into all the small hard-to-clean places.

When the head of your electric toothbrush needs to be replaced you only need to buy a
new head for the electric toothbrush. Even children themselves
will get to see the difference, as their teeth look brighter and feel smoother and thus,
cleaner.
