I was reading on the Vignette Hexagon Quilt blog that one of the team members there uses the sewline glue pen for basting her hexagons. I'm intrigued. I can see how that would make the basting process so much faster, but is it safe for the fabric? Does it completely wash out? How about taking the papers out later is that an issue? So I'm asking the quilters out there have you used this product? Does it work well? Have any issues with it?

I was wondering about that too...
I've never heard of such a thing! I hope someone who knows will answer, because I'm interested too!
Yes it dose wash out. I have been using it for some time now and it will not damage your fabric. This clever glue stick means the end of sewing around pins! A water-soluble blue glue that dries clear is a quick, convenient way to hold fabrics for sewing. Great for quilting and applique work but also for hemming and general sewing. Once glued, the fabric pieces can be pulled apart, so not to worry if they are misplaced or need to be adjusted. Refills available. Hope this helps
I use this a lot for applique. It is completely safe and does wash out.
I've used it for applique and it's great!! No issue with it at all. :-)
